When an open-minded Jewish librarian and his son become victims of the Holocaust, he uses a perfect mixture of will, humor, and imagination to protect his son from the dangers around their camp.

This is one of the first films I truly hated. The whole concept of trying to hide the horrors of the holocaust to a child in a concentration camp is just a terrible concept.

Absolutely beautiful movie! Roberto Benigni is known for his humor and he does an excellent job of balancing humor with such a tough subject as WWII without diminishing the horrendous acts that took place. I will always remember the final words of this film!

Life is Beautiful INDEED is one of the most popular, culturally & aesthetically significant, & very best movies of 1997! Besides playing along in believable behavior & humorous fashion, the movie stands tall as one of the greatest World War II & foreign language movies of all-time & one of the greatest movies ever made in the 1990’s decade! Widespread critical acclaim go to the direction, screenplay, themes, tone, style, editing, score, cinematography, sound, production, costumes, and acting!!!!
