One of the best films Spike Lee has made. It is a commentary on racism, war, PTSD, friendship and the father and son dynamic. Delroy Lindo gives one of the best performances you will see in a while. A total clinic.

Great film and in my top three Spike Lee films with The 25th Hour and Jungle Fever. It says a lot About race, friendship, fatherhood and patriotism as well as giving a an entertaining perspective on Vietnam we haven’t seen before. I really wish he pushed further with some of the ideas about what it means to be a black man fighting a war for your oppressor but alas it was what it was. I had no issues with the length but yes it could have been shorter. A highly recommended

RIP Chadwick Boseman.
Spike Lee's follow-up to his fantastic BlacKkKlansman is a psuedo-period piece mostly set during the Vietnam War, an era that seems to be mostly forgotten by many.
At the end of a crap year, let's be grateful to filmmakers that will never let us forget our past mistakes no matter how long ago they occurred.
And grateful for Delroy Lindo's powerhouse performance! He's always been a great actor but man does he steal the show.
