I had a lot of fun watching this. I liked it better than the first film for its color, sensibility & the lead villain played by Pascal(the villain in the first film was weak & especially so in the 3rd act).NEGATIVES: 1.Gal Gadot cannot act & delivers all lines with the biggest grinned smile on her face like a little kid or a model(which is what she is) looking for approval...despite what emotion the line actually calls for or she burns a hole through max lord’s head when first meeting him for no reason whatsoever. 2. Patty Jenkins cannot write for her life. 3. Toxic feminism rears its head to make every male character from the cops to the extras a cardboard cliche of evil men because they were born males to begin with. It grows old fast.

Mark’s review published on Letterboxd:
I need to think more about this "hot mess" of a movie. I worry that I'm a victim of expectations.
Acting: Good
Plot: Idiotic
Special Effects: So-so
One thing is for sure, I don't think there is anyone better for the part than Gal Gadot.

Warner Bros & DC seemed to have been past putting out these painfully long snore-fests stuffed to the brim with characters you don’t care about and uninspired fight scenes. However, Wonder Woman 1984 proves that they have once again lost sight of what makes their characters great. Despite putting on a good performance, Gal Gadot still can’t save the more lackluster DCEU pictures she’s in. For now, Wonder Woman remains a one-hit wonder in cinema.

Is it as bad as people say? No. Is it a bad film? Yes. The biggest weakness is the story and script which felt very much like a first draft. The wishing stone could work in a twilight zone episode but not a major movie. Gadot still can’t act but has a handful of decent scenes. Cinematography and colours were great and the music did its job but Patty Jenkins really missed the mark with this film.

Starts well enough with two entertaining set pieces. Once the magical plot device is introduced, nonsensical stuff just “happens” and we are expected to go with it. The performances are all fine, particularly Pedro Pascal, but the villains are never threatening and there are no real stakes despite the global chaos in the 3rd act. The wire work and green screen take you out of the action in a way that it shouldn’t (and didn’t in the earlier DCEU). 3rd film needs to get out of prequel territory.

This is one of the worst DCEU films so far alongside Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad. Patty shouldn’t have been given a third film after this self indulgent snooze fest

WW84 was a solid film that had issues but it was still enjoyable. People who are calling it the worst DC film ever is sadly mistaken.
