The first movie that depicts Miami proper accurately. The visuals, the acting, the music, a true work of art.

One of the most incredible films of my lifetime. Subtle, important, sensitive, honest. Beautiful performances by every single actor. One could write a book about the cinematography. Its restraint is commendable. The fact that it was compared for an entire awards season to the doltish “La La Land” was continually offensive to me. A perfect film.

Moonlight is one of the best movies of 2016 and one of the greatest under the light of the LGBTQ! No story is more provocative, more intense, and even more powerful than what Moonlight has to offer. The setting and tone to the film brings out a light that could make real-life connections to colored people and their undying support to know who they truly are. Widespread and critical acclaim goes towards Jenkins’ direction and script, cinematography, music, and performances (particularly Ali).
