Hughes once again succeeds thanks to the solid character work. Far from perfect and far from my favorite of his, it's still a blast.

The Breakfast Club will not inspire the teenagers of today but also the grown-ups that were teenagers of yesteryear. John Hughes has an unbelievable directing style to adolescents that help explore the internal and external conflicts young adults have in a high school setting and seeing end results of these kind of moments. Critical acclaim goes out to the direction, screenplay, themes, overall messages portrayed, soundtrack, humor, and performances (particularly Nelson, Ringwald, and Hall).
