Quite the refresh after the previous four movies.

After the stale and tiresome Bay films we finally get a true transdormers film. With a new focus on characters and proper film structure while maintaining what makes transformers unique. Bumblebee works on two levels giving proper fan service to those who pay attention (and love the source material) while telling an emotional self contained story. Unfortunately the film calls back a bit too hard on Bays first film. It's unnecessary because this film could easily stand on it's own. Excellent.

Bumblebee is one of the most popular and very best movies of 2018 & most definitely the best Transformers movie of all six movies in the series. It’s emotional, believable, heartwarming, and has a purposeful & objective filled story that doesn’t just carry the film through destruction but also the drama! Widespread critical acclaim go out to the direction, screenplay, soundtrack, action sequences, nostalgic tone, atmosphere, 80’s setting, and the performances (particularly Steinfeld and Cena)!

They finally figured out how to make a Transformers movie—keep Michael Bay as far away as possible, get a good writer and director, and, since we still need human characters, make them like real people and intertwine the protagonist’s story with that of the Transformers. Not only does Hailee Steinfeld bring an excellent performance, but she manages to interact perfectly with Bumblebee on-screen. The action is spectacular, albeit brief at times, especially in the opening scene on Cybertron. Bumblebee may not be a great movie, but it’s still damn good!

Much better than the awful Transformers movies but still could have been better. Was really cheesy but overall was a decent movie. Great effects
