Interesting idea that doesn’t really make sense in a film that is too convoluted and pretentious to enjoy. The only memorable moment for me was the inversion hallway fight but when you have a film with characters you don’t really get to know or care about, you are in trouble. Way more difficult to follow than Inception and certainly not as good, I think this is a continued downward spiral for Nolan.

I don’t need to see this film to know that it is a convoluted mess from a pretentious(ie he uses deals with complex subject matter in a way that makes him think he is an expert with something profound to say about any of it to begin with) self important director who is only going to reveal himself over time as a fraud like he did with Batman. He is no Kubrick. He is no savior to the bat. He is not top level & his best films were in his past (memento, insomnia, and prestige). Go watch the Hill by Sidney Lumet or any Kubrick film. Pompous director

Hoo boy. Not sure how to review the latest Nolan brain-twister. Maybe in reverse? The opening was thrilling. But it went sideways (or multiple-ways) from there. I went in knowing this was mind-bending. But it was beyond confusing. It was unintelligible. Do you ever watch a 2.5 hour James Bond movie and wonder "Where in the world are they now? That's essentially what this is ... A confusing epic Bond movie with a "reverse-time" brain teaser thrown in.

Very interesting idea that was poorly executed. Too much exposition, too much explaining took away from the joy of the film.

Has an intriguing central concept that actually plays well for most of the film, but becomes incomprehensible in the climax. The Blu-Ray should have included a strategy guide. Makes more sense on TV with subtitles because sound mix is so bad. Fundamentally, the core story is a boring Bond-type plot with a main character who you don’t much care about. Even Inception’s Cobb had a motivation you could relate to. Pattinson’s Neil ends up the standout. Branagh’s Russian accent is hilarious.

This bitch confusing. I watched Tenet a couple days ago but wanted to rewatch it for the review cause I undersood jack shit and surprise the second time I also didn't understand much but some things did clear up. I would give this movie a 9 but there are some issues with characters and story that bother me such as the pacing which is a bit over the place going really fast that if you miss a second of the film you are confused for the rest of it. “Do not try to understand it.” That’s what a character says early on, and they were right. Attempt to make sense of the beast that is Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, and you will likely fail. Even if you give this movie your undivided attention, and then some, all the way through, that might not be enough. The way I see it, you can look at Tenet one of two ways–a brilliant cinematic masterpiece from one of Hollywood’s most complex auteurs, or a labyrinthine picture that seems too in over its head. I am of the latter opinion.

Tenet is one of the most popular, explosively entertaining, mentally challenging, and best movies of the COVID year in 2020! While there might be some inconsistent play with the writing, all-time great director Christopher Nolan is never missing a step when his masterful ideas are engaged. Generally positive reception go to the direction, action sequences, editing, sound, cinematography, visual effects, and the cast’s performances (particularly of Washington, Pattinson, Debicki, and Branagh)!!!!

Tenet is a mess of a film that desperately wants to set a new bar in filmmaking but misses the mark because it forgets the 1st rule of entertainment. Give us engaging characters. While Tenet spends all its time to create a masterfully intricate innovative plot, Tenet totally forgets to give us characters we care about to take us on that journey. A+ for the intellectual puzzle. D- for the characters, and unfortunately for Nolan, characters are more important

10 years from now this film will be a cult classic like "The Thing" which also had a mix reaction at the time of its release.Tenet Is one of the most original movies in recent years where nolan has given his unique take on time travel related films. The Sheer Technical Virtuosity Of Chris Nolan is in full display here.He Mixes his Subtle Metaphysics With Big Spectacle Setpieces. The Underlying Metaphysics Of Tenet Is Determinism.Appreciate Nolan because this is era where "Marvel" Reign Supreme.
