A criminally overlooked and mismarketed film that’s become a cult sci-fi classic. The plot sounds almost like an Armageddon/Deep Impact summer blockbuster, but it draws upon Alien, 2001, Silent Running, Dark Star & Event Horizon as influences. The all-star cast aren’t action heroes, but a group of scientists and astronauts. The issues on the way to the sun are far more interesting than encountering demons. 3rd act is where some viewers lose patience. I still watch it every year. Check it out!
