After nearly 20 years the Matrix returns. And I couldn't be more disappointed. I never thought a film series held in such high regard among scifi fans could sink to this level. Everything is worse. Sloppy boring action scenes. A story that cannot stand on it's own feet. And an ending that left me shocked and not in a good way. Resurrection? Ironic that it is the death of this franchise. No not like this Lana.

I mercifully got sick and skipped this one in the cinema, and I feel like I owe Matrix Revolutions an apology (it’s still not good though). The initial setup is interesting, but copying story beats from the first film with categorically worse action, music, cinematography, characters, makeup, and dialogue while taking jabs at cash grab sequels don’t make your sequel good. The much better Scream sequels even struggle with this. This is one of the worst films of 2021, and the series is dead.

Matrix Resurrections should have been left for dead. With all of the "meta" snarky shots at Warner Bros. and sequels and remakes in general embedded in the film I had the distinct impression that Lana Wachowski really didn't want to make this movie. And it shows in the end result which a stale rehash of vfx and even the old films. There's nothing new to see in this blatantly forced 4th installment in a movie series where the original movie revolutionized the movie industry.

Really lackluster film that is only just about better than Revolutions which was terrible. The cinematography and fight sequences in this are average which is sinful for a Matrix film. When you realize how many key crew were missing from this film it makes sense why. I have no interest in this franchise continuing. An example of what Hollywood has become.

Trash. An absolute DISGRACE of a film. Cannot believe how this was made and just how sloppily it was made. I do not and will not recognise this as a matrix movie.

It’s a miracle I even passed the test to review this terrible movie. Boring from start to finish. Completely rehashes the first movie. There’s literally nothing good I have to say. Sorry I couldn’t give it a 0. This app wouldn’t let me.
