A highly entertaining & quotable film that I revisit once every few years. Denzel’s Alonzo is hilarious & “lowdown and ruthless” as one character puts it. Ethan Hawke’s Jake gets put through the ringer as the day’s events get ever weirder, & the audience shares his horror. Great supporting cast has a lot of one scene wonders. Strong script by David Ayer, save for some late events that REALLY strain credulity. Director Antoine Fuqua calls it a fable at that point in his commentary.
