From the cgi to the cinematography, Alita Battle Angel was the first anime/manga based movie that was properly executed. It have great moments and creative visual achievements.

I was surprised by how much I liked this movie! The style of storytelling is so interesting and engaging. The special effects in this movie are truly groundbreaking. The action gets your blood pumping, and the story really adds importance to the action sequences. Alita is definitely the standout character with good acting and dialogue. Alita's development is really well done. The only cons are some iffy acting from some side characters and small issues with the script. Overall, I give this an A

Great movie from beginning to end. The performance capture mixed with the acting of the cast and the beautiful vfx makes this a very entertaining movie to watch. Alita is an example of a brave and intelligent character. She goes through the ringer in this film. Excellent character development. Only problem I had was the average ending and some of lingering unresolved plot points.

Alita: Battle Angel is one of the most popular, electrically amazing, and visually finest movies of 2019 as well as a big return for Robert Rodriguez! Besides reaching the Championship League, the movie stands as one of the greatest cyberpunk movies of all-time and one of the best in Sci-Fi/Fantasy for the 2010’s decade! A visual achievement! Generally positive reception goes out to the direction, visuals, CGI, sound, editing, cinematography, style, score, soundtrack, and the cast performances!!

Forget Scarlett Johanson’s Ghost in the Shell & that crap DragonBall Z film. This is the best anime adaptation ever made & the prototype for what the future of cinema can be. Produced by James Cameron & passed off to Robert Rodriguez to direct, this is a fantastic film, great archetypical characters, w/ an ensemble cast, and action packed, well paced start to a great franchise. Rodriguez also directed Sin City which is also one of the great visual adaptations of the modern age but this film is on another level. I pray for a Sequal so we can see Ed Norton as the villain Nova, a puppet master controlling it all.

In a world where live action remakes of animated films always disappoint...Alita saves the day literally. I'm shocked. An anime adaptation that actually not only lives up to the original short film. It surpasses it. Phenomenal cgi, amazing action scenes, a story with some heart that really comes through. This is a crowd pleaser film on every level. This is how you do anime to live action RIGHT. A shining example of what can be done when passion is involved. Go watch it now. 9/10
